Dale Power Solutions is exhibiting at Solar & Storage Live at ExCeL London on 29-30 April. Visit us on Stand E50 to explore how our Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) can deliver measurable commercial, operational and sustainability benefits for your application.

Our own manufacturing site is already seeing these benefits, with multiple ongoing projects to do the same for our customers, including a 4MWh behind-the-meter system for an organisation in the financial sector.

90+ Years of Critical Power Expertise

Our critical backup power expertise spans over nine decades. With the introduction of BESS, this capability has evolved from our heritage in generators and Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS), into advanced energy storage solutions. Our expertise has received industry recognition, having won the AMPS Award for Energy & Sustainability last year, as well as being shortlisted for the VINCI Facilities Supply Chain Environmental Impact Award.

Delivering Battery Storage Projects

Our 4MWh behind-the-meter project is progressing to the installation and commissioning phase, having successfully passed Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) in summer 2025. The BESS will be key to overcoming grid limitations and storing surplus clean energy generated on-site via a solar PV array.

We are also delivering a 288kW / 1002kWh project battery storage project that complements a major site expansion set to double the customer’s manufacturing capability. As electricity consumption increases, the system is forecast to reduce energy bills by approximately 40%, with a projected return on investment within 3–4 years.

Overcoming Grid Constraints

Battery storage removes constraints associated with permitted grid connection limits within ageing national electricity infrastructure. The electricity connections pipeline has become heavily oversubscribed, with more than 739 GW of projects reportedly stuck in the queue, three times the 200–225 GW needed to meet the UK’s Clean Power by 2030 targets.

With ongoing grid reform and network reinforcement delays, businesses, local authorities, and developers are facing wait times of up to 15 years just to secure a grid connection.
