We’re delighted to announce that Dale Power Solutions has won the Energy and Sustainability Award at the AMPS Awards for Excellence 2025, held in Salford on 19th November.
The achievement arrives in a landmark year, as we celebrate our 90th anniversary and the 55th anniversary of AMPS. As a founding member of the Association of Manufacturers and Suppliers of Power Systems and Ancillary Equipment (AMPS), our CEO, Gavin Hepburn, serves on the AMPS Council alongside 16 other industry leaders, supporting the future direction of the association.
Leading in Energy and Sustainability
Gavin, accompanied by colleagues from the business, accepted the award on behalf of the entire team. Reflecting on the win, he shared:
I’m absolutely delighted to receive this award on behalf of our entire team. It reflects the hard work and commitment we have put into running a truly sustainable business in support of our ESG goals. We’re proud that the changes we’ve made are not only delivering a meaningful reduction in CO₂ emissions, but also driving down energy costs for the long term.
This award recognises Dale Power Solutions’ commitment to sustainability, both internally through renewable energy adoption, emissions reduction, and improvements across our operations, and externally through our work in helping customers transition to cleaner, more resilient energy strategies. Our Battery Energy Storage Division plays a key role in enabling other organisations to achieve the same long-term benefits.
AMPS has a long and influential history within the UK power generation industry. Its origins date back to 1970, when leading UK generator manufacturers, including Dale Electric (now Dale Power Solutions), formed the Association of British Generating Set Manufacturers (ABGSM). For two decades, ABGSM championed high standards, represented manufacturers, and enhanced the profile of the generating set sector.
In 1989, industry representation expanded with the formation of the Association of Manufacturers of Power Generating Systems (AMPS), representing a wider section of the industry. The two bodies merged in 1992 and formally become AMPS in 1995. Today, AMPS continues to advocate for its members and uphold the reputation, quality, and innovation that define the UK power generation industry.
This is not our first success at the AMPS Awards. In 2023, Hannah Magowan, now our Lead Engineer for Energy Storage and Renewables, won Apprentice of the Year in recognition of her academic excellence and engineering innovation. Now at the forefront of sustainable battery energy storage, Hannah embodies the forward-thinking spirit celebrated by the AMPS Awards.
