International Women in Engineering Day (INWED) provides an opportunity to recognise the contributions of women across Dale's engineering sector and celebrate the diverse roles they play in supporting customers and contributing to the wider community through fundraising.

At Dale Power Solutions, women contribute across a wide range of disciplines, from project management and business development to customer support and service delivery. This year, we are highlighting four colleagues whose dedication, leadership, and commitment exemplify the values that help shape our business. Alongside their professional accomplishments, two of the women featured have collectively raised more than £1,050 for charitable causes in 2026, reflecting the determination, and community spirit that International Women in Engineering Day seeks to celebrate.

The importance of recognising and encouraging women in engineering remains clear. According to the Women's Engineering Society's 2025 census, women make up just 16.5% of the engineering workforce. At Dale Power Solutions, we are committed to supporting the next generation of engineers through work experience placements, apprenticeships, and engagement with local schools and colleges. We also participate in careers events such as Scarborough STEM Week at Scarborough Spa, which welcomes around 3,500 students each year from across the North Yorkshire Coast, Ryedale, and surrounding areas, helping to inspire young people, including young women, to explore careers in STEM.

Kelly Winter – Commercial UPS Project Manager

Kelly Winter has been part of the Dale team for eight years. Beginning her at Dale as Telecoms Contract Service Coordinator, Kelly transitioned into a Commercial Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) Project Coordinator in 2022, before being promoted to Commercial UPS Project Manager in 2025.

In her current role, Kelly oversees project logistics, collaborating with both our engineers and customers to coordinate installations and build strong customer relationships, fulfilling site visits where required.

Kelly continues to invest in her professional development alongside her growing responsibilities. Recently, she renewed her PRINCE2 Foundation and Practitioner project management qualification and achieved the IOSH Managing Safely course, further strengthening her expertise in project delivery, risk management, and workplace safety.

Kelly's promotion coincided with the expansion of Dale's Commercial UPS division in St Albans. The division's larger facility, which serves as a product showroom, and modern meeting space, was officially opened in 2026 and represents an important milestone in the continued growth of the business.

Nicola Doody – Project Manager, Industrial UPS Utilities Sector

Nicola Doody has built a 14-year career at Dale Power Solutions and currently works as a Project Manager within the Industrial UPS Utilities Sector. In this role, she oversees the delivery of critical power projects for utility-sector customers, coordinating resources, managing stakeholders, and helping ensure successful project completion.

Beyond her professional responsibilities, Nicola has recently demonstrated remarkable commitment to charitable causes, having completed both the Belfast City Marathon and the Rob Burrow Leeds Marathon within just eight days of one another, raising funds for the Motor Neurone Disease Association (MNDA). As of June 2026, her fundraising efforts had raised an incredible £685.

Michelle Mawson – Service Quotes Team Leader

Michelle Mawson has been at Dale for 13 years, progressing through multiple roles from Administrative Assistant to Service Quotes Team Leader. In her current position, she oversees the Service Quotations team, helping to ensure customers receive accurate, timely quotations while supporting the efficient delivery of service operations across the business.

Michelle is another colleague making a significant impact beyond her day-to-day role through an ambitious programme of charitable fundraising. In 2026, she took part in a range of fundraising challenges, including the Scarborough 10k Race for Life in support of Cancer Research UK and a 165km walking challenge for Ovarian Cancer Action.

Collectively, Michelle has already raised more than £367 for charitable causes this year, with additional sponsorship still being collected. Following her participation in the Filey Lions 10k in June, she has several further events planned, including the Macmillan Peak District Mighty Hike, a challenging 26-mile route, and the McCain Yorkshire Coast 10k.

Laura Rana – Business Development & Sales Lead (Scotland)

Laura Rana (pictured on the right) joined Dale Power Solutions in 2024 following the acquisition of Calibre Power Electronics, where she previously served as Managing Director.

Today, Laura plays a key role in business development across Dale's product and service divisions, helping to strengthen relationships with customers and partners throughout Scotland. As a proud Scot, she is instrumental in ensuring Dale maintains a strong presence at industry events across the region.

Before the acquisition, Calibre had been a long-standing partner of Dale, providing specialist offshore UPS service and maintenance support. Since joining the wider Dale organisation, Laura has helped support the continued development of these capabilities, with offshore engineering expertise increasingly being applied to both offshore and onshore wind sectors.

Her experience, leadership, and industry knowledge continue to strengthen Dale's presence across key markets and emerging renewable energy opportunities.
