Renewable resources, such as wind energy and solar power, now generate almost a third of the UK’s electricity, with some estimates claiming that by 2050, this figure could reach 100% – ending our reliance on fossil fuels and other depleting resources – but only if the right political, financial and societal decisions are made, and made quickly. One step in this direction has been the Accelerated Loss-of-Mains Change Programme (ALoMCP) which seeks to provide energy suppliers with the funding they need to update their solar photovoltaics, wind turbines and hydro schemes with better relays and power systems, and to reduce power failure issues. Another has been the societal shift towards green energy, as businesses seek to strengthen their corporate social responsibility, and do their bit for the planet. It’ll be no easy feat becoming 100% reliant on renewable energy sources – especially with increasing electricity demand – but with the correct UPS power supplies, power generators and maintenance programmes in place, we can show the world how it can be done, and at a much faster pace, with continuous energy supply.
From severe environment UPS and switch mode inverters and rectifiers through to heavy range generators, hybrid generators and offshore and renewable power generators, we have everything your business needs for an efficient energy supply. Whether you own a wind farm and require a backup generator, a data centre and want to run on green energy, or would like an effective service, maintenance and monitoring schedule and programme set up, Dale Power Solutions can do it all.

The Sectors We Serve
From data centres and utilities through to marine, oil and gas, our generators, UPS supplies, energy storage and battery storage solutions can aid power generation and minimise and prevent blackouts and power grid failures. Providing wind power, solar power and hydropower generation, as well as marine energy is no trouble with our power solutions. With further support in servicing, maintenance and remote monitoring, it’s no surprise that our clients in the renewable sector trust us to provide them with renewable technologies for beneficial sustainable energy.
Marine, Oil And Gas
One of the strongest challenges offshore production faces is finding a suitable, sustainable and cost-effective power source. Offshore oil and gas wells have shown to have a large amount of supply, but providing enough energy to power the rig to get that supply presents a unique challenge due to the offshore location of the rig. An uninterrupted power supply is essential for the oil and gas industry and lots of equipment on a rig needs powering. A lot of specialized, heavy equipment is used to drill the oil. This includes equipment such as a crane and hoisting system, large engines, a turntable and pumps. Once the oil is being produced, power is needed to extract and produce the oil. This includes the use of an electric motor that powers a rod that sucks the oil up the well or a machine that produces steam to force oil up and out.
While diesel-powered generators, followed by gas generators, are the most common ways to power offshore operations, they are not the only methods available. Wind farms are also being used. Here at Dale Power Solutions, we can supply everything from Zone-2 Offshore Diesel Generators and Marine specification diesel generator sets through to backup generators for your wind farms, along with renewable energy systems that create renewable resources and renewable fuels for your customers.
Because many data centres guarantee 99% uptime for their clients’ websites and applications, and are built to function night and day, we know that they need an effective power system in place that ensures everything functions correctly without compromise. Power failure could lead to big losses not only for the data centre, but for the clients and companies to which they serve. Even going down for 10 seconds could have huge ramifications, which is why constant power supply and continuous monitoring of your UPS, generators and battery chargers are of the utmost importance. Considering how they power your network infrastructure, storage infrastructure and computing resources – which includes everything from your servers and local storage through to external connectivity and memory – they should always be taken care of.
For clients in the renewable energy sector, we have a great range of UPS power supplies, generators and battery chargers to keep data centres fully powered all day and all night, every day and every night. From the 50Hz HTW-670 T5 and HTW-2080 T5 generators to the Dale E733100 (100kVA / 90KW capacity) and Dale E733250 (250kVA / 200-250KW capacity) UPS power supplies, we can guide you on the right one for you.
The main responsibility of utility companies – whether they supply gas, electricity, water or telecommunications – has long been to reliably generate energy and manage the grid that distributes that energy to customers. As we shift more towards renewable energy and clean energy, and depend on its operation and power generation, there are increasing electricity demands from utility companies – that must be met at all times.
Be they gas power stations or an offshore wind farm, the generator is where renewable electricity is produced and is often owned by a supplier. So if the generator ran into trouble, it could severely limit any financial gain from using renewable energy, but also affect end-customers too. We recommend backup generators as part of your fail safe critical solution and thorough maintenance and monitoring programmes be put in place.

The ALoMCP & Renewables
The Accelerated Loss-of-Mains Change Programme (ALoMCP) is a fantastic project founded and run by the National Grid and Network Operators. With the goal of updating and maintaining Loss of Mains (LoM) protection for renewable electricity generators such as those used at photovoltaic power stations, for wind turbines and hydro schemes, it hopes to prevent needless tripping and unexpected loss of power supply. Previously, these renewable generators were fitted with RoCoF or Vector Shift (VS) relays, which trip in response to transmission faults, or in RoCoF’s case, when sensing rates of frequency change as low as 0.125 Hzs-1. Because this causes energy supply and power generation issues, the Accelerated Loss-of-Mains Change Programme can supply you with new relays and renewable energy systems to keep your renewable energy sources in check.
As part of these new regulations – known as the G99 – older generators connected under the G59 must change or update their relay settings, or face big fines if they don’t comply by September 2022. Luckily, there are grants available, namely:
- Up to £1,500 where protection function/relay deactivation and/or protection settings change is required.
- Up to £4,000 where a protection relay replacement is required.
Please note that these grants work on a ‘first-come, first-served’ basis, and the funding is also time-sensitive. From surveying your site to supplying and installing the correct products, we can help you with the full service solution, getting your generators up to code in no time at all, and helping you produce wind power, solar energy and water power more efficiently.
The Products Can We Supply For The Accelerated Loss-of-Mains Change Programme
For ALoMCP compliance, we can provide you with a range of relays that meet G99 standards, as well as DC power supplies for battery chargers and tripping switch gear, among other useful UPS parts and equipment.
The DSEP100 Relay For ALoMCP Compliance
The DSEP100 G99 Mains Protection Relay is suitable for use with all DER equipment supplying power in parallel with the mains supply, and it can be fitted to renewable energies such as photovoltaic (solar) and wind turbine installations.
The ComAp MainsPro Relay For ALoMCP Compliance
The ComAp MainsPro is a protection relay for on-grid applications such as generator sets, renewable energy sources and microturbines. With adjustable frequency, voltage and loss of mains protections to protect both the distribution network and your generators, it’s a good option if you also need breaker failure protection.
DC Power Supply For Tripping Switch Gear & DC Power Supply for Battery Chargers
If the amount of current flowing through your generators keeps tripping or going on and off, then it’s definitely time to invest in one of our battery tripping units, such as those that feature in the SR range of single phase or three phase switch mode based DC systems.
For the ultimate in protection, we recommend a DC power supply for your battery charger to provide a fail safe option, and to provide extra protection from power outages.

With a fantastic Himoinsa generator range available, we are certain we can find the right generator for you.
For example, integrated energy generation systems that combine generator sets and photovoltaic plants guarantee considerable savings in fuel, not to mention a constant supply of power, especially in industrial areas and in rural communities in remote regions that lack a proper grid infrastructure. Also great for reducing costs in zones that are not isolated but where it is cheaper to receive energy from a generator set than to connect to the grid, our generators are both efficient and cost-effective.
With remote monitoring you can check the status of your UPS power supplies for your wind farm, solar farm and hydroelectric dam at all times to ensure that they are running with energy efficiently. Checking for any stark changes, faults or errors in the system before they become critical, remote monitoring ensures a reduction in downtime and maintenance costs, as well as keep an eye on fuel tank levels, power monitoring equipment and your HVAC infrastructure, whilst being able to power up generators in the field remotely.
Along with Management Information (MI) Reporting and battery storage solutions, we have everything you need for effective solar energy, wind power, water power and electrical energy generation.
