Service Fleet Electrification and Sustainability Initiatives at Dale Power Solutions
Blog
As part of our broader Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) strategy, Dale Power Solutions continues to invest in initiatives that reduce environmental impact while enhancing the resilience and efficiency of our operations.
Our Service division is progressing its transition towards Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEVs) across the service fleet. As of January 2026, 25 PHEV service engineer vans are now in operation, representing around a third of our total fleet, with further vehicles planned to be rolled out throughout the year.
The move from diesel to PHEV delivers an estimated 80% reduction in CO₂ emissions. Traditional diesel models typically emit around 188g/km of CO₂, compared to just 37g/km for the hybrid equivalent. This shift represents a significant reduction in Scope 1 carbon emissions and supports our commitment to lowering the environmental impact of day-to-day operations.
Our Service team is responsible for maintaining more than 10,000 critical power assets across a wide range of sectors. Ensuring these systems operate safely, reliably, and efficiently is central to our role. By reducing emissions within our own fleet, we are strengthening our ESG performance while continuing to deliver the high standards of service our customers rely on.
In addition to fleet electrification, we have invested in on-site energy infrastructure to further reduce carbon emissions. In April 2024, we installed a 100 kW / 400 kWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) alongside EV charging facilities. This was followed by the addition of a 113 kWp solar PV array in 2025.
The BESS delivered an estimated 27.3 tonnes of CO₂ emissions savings in the first year alone. The solar installation is expected to contribute approximately 25–30% of the site’s annual electricity consumption, reducing reliance on grid power and supporting a more resilient, lower-carbon energy model.
These initiatives reflect a practical, measurable approach to sustainability at Dale Power Solutions. By combining fleet electrification with on-site energy storage and renewable generation, we are taking tangible steps to reduce emissions while supporting the critical power needs of our customers and the wider energy transition.
If you are exploring BESS to reduce costs and improve resilience or looking for expert support to maintain and protect your critical power assets, our team is here to help.
