Inspiring the Next Generation at Scarborough Science and Engineering (STEM) Week 2025
News
From 7th to 9th October 2025, Scarborough Spa will host the 16th anniversary of Scarborough Science and Engineering Week (STEM Week).
Since its launch, STEM Week has welcomed more than 42,000 students. This year, around 3,500 children and young people aged 10–19 from schools and colleges across the North Yorkshire Coast, Ryedale, and beyond will attend. With around 40 exhibitors, including employers, training providers, and education organisations, the event offers hands-on opportunities to explore careers in science, technology, engineering, and maths.
Dale Power Solutions is proud to exhibit at this event, helping to inspire the next generation of engineers, innovators, and problem-solvers. STEM Week plays an important role in showing young people the exciting opportunities available in skill-based careers, and right here on the coast.
We’ll be showcasing our award-winning apprenticeship scheme and work experience opportunities, designed to help students take their first steps towards rewarding careers.
Our apprenticeship programme has received national recognition, including the Queen’s Award for Enterprise: Promoting Opportunity and the Princess Royal Training Award.
Apprentices gain:
Practical experience across different areas of the business.
Industry-recognised qualifications in partnership with Scarborough TEC.
Rotational placements to develop knowledge and skills.
Programmes are available at every stage of career development:
Level 3 Apprenticeships – equivalent to A-Levels.
HNC (Higher National Certificate) – one-year, work-related higher education qualification.
HND (Higher National Diploma) – a two-year advanced higher education qualification.
Degree-Level Apprenticeship – gain a university degree while you work.
To apply, keep an eye on our website vacancies for when we are taking on new apprentices.
We also offer work experience placements during school and college summer holidays for students aged 18 or under. Arranged directly through schools and colleges, these placements provide valuable insight into the workplace, with support and supervision throughout.
To apply, ask your school or college to contact hr@dalepowersolutions.com.
As STEM Week celebrates its 16th year, Dale Power Solutions is proud to continue supporting the event and investing in the future workforce. By promoting apprenticeships and work experience, we aim to inspire young people to see where a career in STEM can take them.
