Commercial power demands continue to evolve, as does uninterruptible power supply (UPS) technology. With the expansion of the HE Series to include single-phase output solutions, Dale Power Solutions is strengthening its ability to support modern commercial loads where single-phase power remains dominant, even within three-phase infrastructure.

This latest product development sits alongside continued investment in our commercial UPS capabilities, including the expansion of our dedicated UPS hub at North Orbital Commercial Park, strengthening both product offering and customer support.

We spoke with Head of Commercial UPS, Stuart MacPhail, to explore what this launch means for customers and how it enhances the wider HE range.

What does the introduction of the HE Series 10–20kVA UPS mean for Dale’s portfolio?

This launch is about expanding choice within our existing HE Series. We’re strengthening the range by giving customers more flexibility. It complements our existing single- and three-phase products and allows us to better support a wider range of commercial environments.

What has driven the development of this new addition to the HE Series?

It’s been considered an enhancement based on how customer requirements are evolving. Businesses need more flexibility in how systems are configured, alongside improved efficiency and modern features. The range extension has been designed to deliver that flexibility by supporting both 3-phase input to 1-phase output (3/1) and 1-phase input to 1-phase output (1/1) configurations, making it suitable for a wide variety of installation scenarios.

Can you talk us through some of the key features?

Of course. The HE Series 10-20kVA single-phase output range has been engineered for performance, efficiency, and adaptability.

From a technical standpoint, key features include:

  • Flexible input topology (3/1 and 1/1) for installation versatility

  • Wide input voltage range (208–478Vac) to handle unstable supply conditions

  • Unity output power factor, ensuring full utilisation of UPS capacity

  • High efficiency up to 94.5%, reducing energy consumption and operating costs

  • Parallel capability of up to four units, enabling scalability and redundancy

Whereas from an operational perspective:

  • Flexible battery configurations to meet different runtime requirements

  • Configurable charging current up to 18A for optimised battery performance

  • 7-inch touchscreen LCD display for improved usability and monitoring

  • Comprehensive communication interfaces, including RS232, RS485, USB, EPO, dry contacts and SNMP options for remote monitoring and integration

Overall, it’s a solution designed to be easy to deploy, simple to manage, and highly adaptable to customer requirements.

What types of applications is this UPS best suited for?

It’s ideal for business-critical support across a wide range of commercial environments. That includes IT infrastructure, servers, office systems, network equipment, and peripherals like printers. It’s also well suited for security systems such as CCTV and access control, as well as general commercial and administrative environments where uninterrupted power is essential.

Enhancing the HE Series Portfolio

By expanding the HE Series, Dale Power Solutions continues to enhance and refine our UPS portfolio, ensuring customers have access to modern, efficient, and flexible solutions across both single- and three-phase applications.
