BS EN507171 is a European standard that defines the requirements for CPSS used to support essential safety equipment, including UPS systems for emergency lighting and safe evacuation. It specifies the design, installation, testing, and maintenance criteria necessary to ensure a reliable, continuous power supply during a mains failure for at least three hours.
Older or non-compliant systems may no longer meet today’s safety expectations, potentially putting building occupants at risk and creating legal compliance issues for operators.
