The exhibition follows Dale Power Solutions becoming a Company Affiliate Member of the Institute of Healthcare Engineering and Estate Management (IHEEM) earlier this year, strengthening our engagement with the healthcare estates sector.

Reliable power infrastructure is essential across healthcare environments, where a loss of power can affect clinical equipment, services and continuity of patient care.
Health Technical Memorandum (HTM) 06-01: Electrical services supply and distribution sets out the legal requirements, design, operation, and maintenance of electrical infrastructure within healthcare premises.
The level and speed of backup required depends on the clinical risk. HTM 06-01 identifies standby generators as a secondary power supply and UPS systems and batteries as potential tertiary supplies. Depending on the application, alternative power may need to be available as a no-break supply or within 0.5 seconds, while other equipment and services should be restored within 15 seconds.
Hospitals must have robust contingency plans to maintain access to backup power for patient safety and to ensure uninterrupted services. They are legally required to have backup power available through generators or uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), within 10 seconds of a power outage. The Health Technical Memorandum (HTM) 06-01 outlines best practices for electrical system design, installation and maintenance, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.

In 2025, Dale announced a multi-year contract renewal with NHS Property Services, building on a relationship spanning more than a decade. For one major NHS hospital project, Dale designed and manufactured two bespoke containerised diesel generator units for a clinical site, incorporating N+1 redundancy for additional system resilience.
Each generator was rated at 2,284 kVA / 1,827 kW prime power, with 2,525 kVA / 2,020 kW standby capability. The units were also engineered to meet a strict acoustic requirement of 85dBA at one metre, while the overall solution was developed with the requirements and best-practice guidance of HTM 06-01 in mind.
