FAQ
Regular, planned maintenance keeps costs and inconvenience to a minimum because work is carried out at a suitable time, rather than having to be done at short notice under emergency conditions (when the generator is actually required).
Increased reliability will mean that the set will be available when required. Regular maintenance has other benefits: Major repair bills should be avoided as potential trouble can be corrected before it has a chance to develop into major faults and therefore running costs will be reduced. Since the equipment will always be running under optimum conditions, operating life will be extended. Planned maintenance also reduces down time (minimum impact on productivity).
Maintenance work can be scheduled when it will cause the least disruption to the organisation’s activities Condition based monitoring of fuel, coolant and oil will keep a check on quality and is more cost effective than replacing it. Engineers should sample fuel coolant and oil yearly.
