Case Study
As part of our growing portfolio of generator refurbishments, Dale Power Solutions recently restored a heavily corroded 200kVA canopied generator. The project was completed at our Scarborough site (Factory 2) and demonstrates the value of generator refurbishment as part of our wider Service & Maintenance offering.
Service Location: Factory 2, Dale Power Solutions, Scarborough
Project Type: Generator Refurbishment
Generator Size and Type: 200kVA Canopied
The generator had been operating in a corrosive environment. The unit’s outer shell showed significant rusting and structural wear, while the internal base and control panel were in poor condition. A complete inspection confirmed that a full refurbishment was required to restore the unit to a reliable operational standard.
Our team began by removing the rusted outer shell, preparing the internal base and exterior through intensive sanding and surface preparation. We then applied a fresh industrial-grade coating to protect the unit from future corrosion. The ageing control panel was replaced with a modernised system, enhancing both reliability and functionality.
The refurbishment transformed the generator’s condition, extending its lifespan and ensuring it remains a dependable source of power. This project is one of many recently completed by our dedicated team, reflecting a rise in demand for refurbishment services within our Scarborough facility. We also deliver generator upgrades and refurbishments off-site across the UK, completing in-situ work where removal isn’t necessary or feasible– see more here.
Generator refurbishment is a cost-effective and sustainable alternative to replacement, forming a key part of our comprehensive Service & Maintenance offering. Whether dealing with environmental damage, outdated components, aesthetic wear, or condition assessments, our team is equipped to restore generator performance and appearance to the highest standards.
