Generators For The Water Industry

For that extra level of protection, a diesel generator or backup generator is always a good idea. Producing energy by converting diesel fuel into mechanical rotating energy, this is then used by an alternator to generate electricity. Therefore, if the main power supply cuts off, a diesel generator can be automatically switched on, providing a continuous supply of emergency power.

Bypass Switches For The WIMES Industry

Though uninterruptible power supplies are very reliable, sometimes, there may be a need to externally bypass the UPS. For example, to carry out any removal, repairs, maintenance and routine servicing of your UPS, a bypass switch would enable this without disrupting the critical load. This would result in reduced downtime, and help towards reducing expensive future costs.

The majority of UPS power supply systems above 5kVA already include some type of internal UPS maintenance bypass capability, but an external device allows the UPS to be completely removed from the electrical circuit if required for an upgrade or swap out, while still functioning effectively.

Having an external UPS bypass switch is especially important in the WIMES industry, where downtime can lead to loss of trust in your business, and therefore loss of customers. With an external maintenance bypass switch as part of your back up power solution, you can quickly and easily divert the mains supply around the UPS, providing power straight to the load with no risk of power outages or power failure.

Padlocks & Castell Interlocks

To reduce vandalism and keep everyone safe, padlocks and Castell interlocks provide that extra bit of protection for your power equipment.

Trapped key interlocking ensures that a process is followed and can’t be evaded. The transfer of a key ensures that wherever staff find themselves, in either starting or shutting down operations, they can have peace of mind knowing that they are safe.

A key is used to start the process and remains trapped whilst the machine is running. The only way to remove the key is to isolate the hazard. This key is then used to gain access to the dangerous area and remains trapped in position while the gate or door is opened. The key can only be removed when the gate or door has been shut. In this way the key is either trapped when the machine is running and access cannot be gained, or the key is trapped while access is gained and the machine cannot be started.

Castell interlocks are especially useful for UPS applications, as well as use in wind turbines and rail electrification systems.
