Four Scarborough golfers have raised over £2000 for MacMillan Cancer Support as part of the Longest Day Golf Challenge. The team was led by Nick Kearney, Health, Safety and Facilities Manager at Dale Power Solutions.
Despite playing their favourite sport this was not a walk in the park for “The Awesome Foursome”. They began playing at 4.25am and finally came off the 18th hole at 7.15pm – 15 hours later. They walked almost 17 miles, took 47,118 steps each and climbed the equivalent of 84 floors.
Nick and the team are pleased with the results. “We played 72 holes over the course of the day, taking very few breaks to complete the challenge in daylight. We are extremely grateful to Dale and all our sponsors and very pleased to have raised over £2000 for MacMillan, which is a charity close to many people’s hearts.”
