Alice Glover, Advanced Apprentice, and Chris Bunce Apprentice QA Technician from Dale Power Solution, were invited to take part in a judging panel at the STEM Inspirations 2018 event at Yorkshire Air Museum on 27th June. The panel judged 6 enterprise based projects created by 12 – 19 year olds. The projects were judged on enthusiasm, depth of research, and most original project that would benefit the community.
Chris Bunce comments, “It was great to see the different ideas and enthusiasm of the teams taking part. The event aims to promote and celebrate STEM studies and related careers, and this proved to be a very effective way to engage with students and get them interested in STEM subjects.”
Alice adds, “It’s important that we encourage more young people to get involved with STEM and see the opportunities that this can bring. It was good to see such a wide range of students from different backgrounds taking part and in particular young women interested in engineering.”
